Bankura
Bankura Zilla School boasts a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1840. Founded by Dr. G. N. Cheek and Mr. Francis Goldsberry, it began in the "Sepoy Barrack Hospital" building. In 1851, Maharaja Mahatabchand Bahadur of Burdwan provided financial assistance for its extension. It is celebrated for its deep cultural roots and academic excellence in West Bengal.
